PDP: Obasanjo, Tinubu Retard South-west Growth, Not Jonathan

National Publicity Secretary of CNPP, Mr Osita Okechukwu
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it was callous and ludicrous for anybody to say that the Yoruba nation has experienced “the most painfully degrading” times under President Gooluck Jonathan  when all the facts available show that the race has fared better in the last four years of the Jonathan administration in terms of recognition, appointments and provision of  infrastructure in the South-west states. The Director, Media and Publicity of the Oyo State chapter of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, made the submission in a statement in Ibadan recently, while reacting to the claim by the Director of Publicity of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, that the Yoruba race had suffered the most painful degradation under the Jonathan administration.

Olaosebikan said all the known painful, vicious and fatal degradations and neglect suffered so far since 1999 by the Yorubas were inflicted on them by the National Leader of the APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, a turn coat, follower of APC who has wickedly worked against the interest of the Yoruba nation and retarded the growth of the region, manifest in the long neglect of critical infrastructure in the South-west. According to the PDP campaign organisation, “Just like he has been doing to other parts of the country, President Jonathan has been very fair to the Yoruba race giving them deserving top government appointments and attending to the infrastructural decay in the South-west occasioned by the eight years of total neglect the region suffered in the hands of former President Obasanjo.
