MASSOB calls for Jega’s resignation

Members of Imo and Ebonyi states’ Chapter of Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), recently held a peace demonstrations calling for the resignation of the INEC’s chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega. In Owerri, they numbered over one hundred with of placards.  The lines of their placards read thus: “Jega will not  conduct credible election”, “Jega must quit”, “Jega is bias” and “2015 general election will not hold” among others.

The group maintained that Jega’s resignation is necessary especially now that the nation’s peaceful co-existence is in a precarious situation, marred by insecurity, hate and injustice. Also in a press release made available to journalists and signed by MASSOB Owerri Zonal Leader, Orlu Zonal Leader and Okigwe Zonal Leader, Chief Okechukwu Nwaogu, Chief Emma Akabekwe and Chief Kingsley Ezeugo respectively, the group accused Jega of bias in his official conducts. They further advocated that Jega’s resignation must be supported by all Nigerians in order for peace to reign in the country.
