In his homily recently, my Parish priest at St Robert Catholic Church Yaba Lagos REV FR LT COL NI SALEH charged the catholic faithful to use what is at their disposal to realize the future of their dream. “Let’s all get our PVCs and make history” he said.
Definitely, the truism of that assertion cannot be revoked because it’s obvious that most Nigerian electorates has abandoned the election ground for those who they believe have the time. For these category of Nigerians, they don’t have that time to queue probably under the hot sun to determine their future. Hence, many Nigerians stay within the comfort of their homes with their eyes glued to the television for results forgetting that you cannot complain over what you allow.
The truth still remains that the Nigeria we desire is in our hands. It is not enough to complain on social media about how rotten the country has become under this present administration, it is time to be actively involved by registering to vote. And when you vote ensure that your vote counts. If you are up to 18 years, you are eligible to vote, please go get your PVC. Election is not meant for the elderly alone like most of us think. Take it or leave it, the outcome of the general elections affects your lifestyle either for good or bad.
This is not the time to continue recycling old faces that have done this nation no good. The slogan for APC in the last general election was CHANGE; I think we really need to infuse change; new blood in all sectors of government. We have got bright young minds in Nigeria. Zoning has no place when the general populace decides who they want. And Party has no power when the electorates make their choice. It can happen in Nigeria if only we can take up the responsibility to vote wisely, it’s all in our hands!
A word is enough for the wise!
