The Management of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), has recently conducted a valedictory session for the outgoing Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs Taye Adebowale, whose 10 years stay in office expires June 2020, hence make public the acting Librarian.
The Rector, Engr Obafemi Omokungbe in his opening remark described Adebowale as a competent and diligent professional cum administrator whose contributions to the growth of the system in the last 10 years cannot be quantified. He expressed sincere appreciation to her for adding value to the system. He noted with gladness that the College will still make do with Adebowale’s experience and knowledge since she will not be leaving the system so soon.
The Polytechnic Librarian being a key principal officer’s position as spelt out in the federal polytechnic act. The Registrar read a beautiful citation of the outgoing Librarian to the audience and the Principal Officers who were present at the event showers encomium on Adebowale one after the other for a successful tenure of office.
The event was also used as an opportunity to unveiled Dr Fatai Ademola Fijabi, a Deputy Polytechnic Librarian as the new College polytechnic Librarian(in acting capacity) pending the appointment of a substantive Polytechnic Librarian by management soon.
