The former Chairman/CEO of Pfizer Products Plc and current president Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, member “Visions 2010 and 2020 Committees and the Convener New Nigeria Group, will lead eminent Nigerians and Maritime Stakeholders in proffering solutions to the perennial Apapa traffic gridlock.
Mazi Sam is also the President of the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals of Nigeria, a Past Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Past President, Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), Past Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ikeja and once National President of the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) and the Chairman of the organized private sector (OPS).
Mazi Sam founded the Sam Ohuabunwa Foundation for Economic Empowerment (SOFEE) in 2009, serves as the Managing Consultant of Starteam Consult, Chairman of the African Centre for Business Development, Strategy & Innovation (ACBDSI), and serves on the board of several other Organizations – for-profit and not-for-profit, public and private, presently as the Chairman of the Abia State Public-Private Partnerships & Investment Promotions Governing Council and Chairman of the Business and Investment Committee of Alaigbo Development Fund (ADF). He was a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) and served as a member of the Presidential Committee on Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P)

The super brand with energetic and fearless disposition has gallantly remained a pathfinder to successful useful solutions of national and international essence, the former Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, would be presenting the lead paper on “The Travails of Manufacturers through Apapa Port” at the Maritime Summit slated for April 14-15, 2021 at the Rockview Hotel, Apapa.
According to the Editor-in-Chief of the Powerful Pen Newspaper, Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, the Summit will attempt to find creative solutions to the hard biting and agonising gridlock, with various degrees of unique and challenging problems from the experience and tested well woven expertise of the speakers for a better operational values of the Maritime Industry.
Ray Ugochukwu, who is also the President of Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) has appealed to Industry stakeholders and all Port users to accord maximum support to the successful hosting of the epoch event.
The Summit was earlier slated for March 25-26 but had to be rescheduled to April 14-15, 2021, due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, is amongst eminent Nigerians expected to grace the occasion.
Also, expected are the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
Industry experts billed to attend include the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority; Hadiza Bala Usman, the Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency, Dr. Bashir Jamoh; Director-General, Standards Organization of Nigeria, Mallam Farouk A. Salim, the Managing Director of LADOL, Dr. Amy Jadesimi, the Managing Director NIWA, Dr. George Moghalu, and the President General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Adewale Adeyanju.
The Summit is expected to kick-off at 10 am prompt daily.
