A classical, taciturn driver of visions, which propelled him to establish the prestigious National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and nationally accepted political party the New Nigerian People’s Party amongst others. The founding of NAGAFF was a total liberation mission that led to the pursuit for the establishment of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (CRFFN) Through NAGAFF, Dr. Aniebonam is contributing to the empowerment of Freight Forwarders by establishing NAGAFF Academy, a school for training and retraining of fresh Freight Forwarders as well as Practitioners.

Dr. Aniebonam, though an active sportsman, did not allow his quest for knowledge to be sacrificed on the altar of Sports as he proceeded to the College of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru, Zaria to study Mechanized Agriculture. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Shipping, Ports Administration, and Management from the University of Lagos. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Transport Planning and Management from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria. A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Shipping, Dr. Aniebonam also holds an honourary Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration of the Cornerstone University of the State of Hawaii, USA Dr Boniface Aniebonam has over 30 years of experience in Freight Forwarding business in Nigeria. He worked briefly with the Lake Chad Research Institute and the Nigeria Customs Service before going into Freight Forwarding, Logistics Business, and Customs facilitations.

Dr. Aniebonam is the Chairman of Aniebonam Organisation, a conglomerate comprising Ojokoro Cement Industry, JLJ Ventures Ltd, etc. All his business interests have been playing major roles in Shipping, Logistics, and Supply Chains Management, as well as manufacturing

The Institute of Transport and management Technology singled Dr Aniebomam out for the conferment of this honour as a result of his enormous contributions to the growth and development of the Maritime Industry in Nigeria. You cannot talk about the maritime Industry and Trade Facilitation in Nigeria without mentioning Dr Aniebonam, because of the big stature of NAGAFF as the 1st and most vibrant Freight Forwarding Association. This feat alone is yet to be paralleled by any other association and has made a tremendous impact in Maritime Business around Nigeria especially its huge number of Members across the Country. He is the third person to be conferred with the prestigious title in 36 years of the Grand fellowship of the Institute after Lt. General Jeremiah Useni and Col. Hammed Ali (Rtd) controller General of Nigerian Customs.

In her welcome address on the 28th of April, 2021, the able rector of the institute, Dr Mrs Lilian C Chibor said the institute is proud of the recipient who has made indelible marks on the sand of time. “We are celebrating an Icon, a super brand, a brilliant, energetic, fearless, and vocal personality, someone who always stands for the truth no matter whose ox is gored,” she said. She further stated that the Institute was established in 1984 and is approved by the Federal Ministry of Education, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Federal Ministry of Transport and Aviation and is enlisted in JAMB as one of the Innovation Enterprise Institutes (IEI).

According to the outspoken rector, the Institute has graduated over 10,000 scholars most of whom are captains of Industries, CEOs, Top management staff of Organizations, Cabin Crews, Ship Captains, Ticketing officers, and Successful Men and Women across the Globe.

In another development, the NAGAFF BOT Chairman Chief Chidiebere Enelamah, Prof Oni of the University of Lagos, Chief Dr Eugene Nweke former president of NAGAFF, Dr Fred Ajuzie – Coordinator Western Zone compliance team, and Comrade Ray Ugochukwu – President of Maritime journalist Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) were handy to reveal lots breathtaking serendipities about the person of the man of the moment on behalf of the various groups they represent.
