.. Nzeribe Okegbue’s foundation Empowers 10 downtrodden in Okwulaga Afaraukwu Ibeku
It is wonderful what great strides can be made when there is a resolute purpose. Achievers are resolute in their goals and driven by determination. While discouragement becomes temporary obstacles are sommunted and doubt are being defeated as personal victory is achualized. The above lines could best describe the psychological atmosphere of the project and Chief celebrant of the day.
It was indeed yet another gathering of eagles and golden fishes at Uzo-nyi, Ogwu na Oshioha Village, off Maduakolam Adgihibe Okwulaga, Afara Ukwu Umuahia, Abia state as the family of Amb. Chief Nzeribe Okegbue, Ph.D of Ikemba Ikwuano Abia state dedicates another blocks of flats under the distinguished chairmanship of Rear Admiral Raphael Osondu (rtd) and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, FCA, FCTI, PhD, Deputy Governor, Abia state as the Chief Special Guest of honour ably re-presented by Barr IC Nwachukwu permanent secretary, Bureau of political affairs with Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly as special guest of honour. The guests of honour include Col Austin Akobundu (Rtd), Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere Ph.D, Chief Sir Ndidi Okereke, Mr Dominic Obetta Asogwa. PCC- Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Zonal Co-ordinator, zone G, Benin City, Bar Wilson Esangbedo, National President Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria. Royal fathers of the day were HRH Eze Edward Ibeabuchi (JP) Okwu 1 of Okwulaga Community, HRH Eze Joseph N. Obaji, Agu 1, Agumba Autonomous community, HRH Eze Nwagwu Ambrose, Chimere 1 of Ugwuegbu Autonomous Community while Hon. Njikonye Ugochukwu, Chairman, Umuahia North LGA and Hon Chief Stephen Mpamugo, chairman Ikwuano LGA played hosts of the ground breaking epoch event. Ikwuano LGA, Abia State.

The spectacular event started with an opening prayer well taken by Rev Basil Ndukwe followed by the Royal blessings for the golden man of the moment Amb. Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue JP by HRH Eze Edward Ibeabuchi (Jp) for bringing a good thing home to the entire good people of Afara-Ukwu.
In his opening remark, the distinguished chairman of the occasion Rear Admiral Raphael Osondu (rtd) called back to mind six years ago when His Excellency the executive governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu made a Clarion call to the sons and daughters of Abia state to come back home to invest. He applauded the deep spirited will of Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue for heeding that Clarion call consistently as this is the second dedication of blocks of flats in two years. Further more, he appreciated the governor for creating favourable environment for investors and equally appealed to him to do more in the area if road construction and power supply to enable so many others invest in manufacturing industries and factories which will enhance job creation noting that through joint effort of the government and committed individuals the state will be better. Finally, the chairman of the occasion felicitated with all the guests who found time to grace the occasion out if their tight schedules and stuffy routines and prayed for the goodness of God upon their heads.
In his Goodwill message, the chairman of People’s Democratic Party, appreciated the good Lord for His mercy and favour which is in aboundance for us. He especially gave kudos to Chief celebrant Dr Nzeribe Okegbue for heeding the call to invest at home by the Governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. He noted that if these quality of structures are erected in Abuja or Lagos, the investor will recover his return on investment in no time but Chief Nzeribe chose to invest at home in other to enhance development not withstanding that the return on investment will be very slow. “This is a clear testimony of a man who love his people” he stated. He equally appreciated the traditional rulers in Afara-Ukwu for supporting such landmark strides in their community.
In his dedication sermon titled ” Prophecy of Fulfillment” taken from Zach 4:9, Dr prophet Tayo Popoola reminded the audience that we were at Afara-Ukwu two years ago for the dedication of the first blocks of flats and today we are here again. He prophecied that we will come back again by next year for another dedication. He encouraged Chief Nzeribe that his charity work for the needy is like a loan to heaven hence heaven will remain open for much more blessings. He noted that those who support others will never be abandoned by God and nobody gives to God and live to regret. He prayed for more blessings for him saying that as he has achieved more than his father, his children will equally achieve more than him. He called on everyone to see this occasion as an opportunity to call down God’s blessings in other to be great.
Speaking on behalf of the deputy Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu Ph.D, Barr IC Nwachukwu apologized that the deputy governor had an unceremonious function to represent the governor. He extended the Goodwill of the deputy governor to the good people of Afara-Ukwu and Ikwuano. He observed that we have all gathered to celebrate one of our own noting that “aku rue ulo ahu onye kpara ya”. He gave it to Dr Nzeribe who gladly answered the Clarion call of the governor to Invest at home. He looked unto him as a pacesetter who has continued to be very generous to the needy through his foundation. He charged him to keep living up to expectations because the more one gives the more one receives from God.
After so many other interesting good will messages, the microphone got into the hands of the Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue (JP) FIBMN, FNIIS, FCIAM, ,FCPA, FIMC, CMC, a resolute personality with notable simplicity and he gave his humble salute to the deputy governor ably re-presented, his friends and associates above all the good people of Ikwuano. He equally extended warm appreciation to the people of Afara-Ukwu and the traditional rulers present for their hands of fellowship. The patriotic, disciplined and dynamic Abian equally used the opportunity to appreciate his father for encouraging him to invest in Umuahia.
Still standing Dr Nzeribe Okegbue gave warm kudos to his wife and children for all their supports and prayers especially when duty calls outside home noting that behind every successful man there is a good woman. He appreciated all the political fathers present and all the organizers, Obike Imo Mascot, Lady Ngozi Orji, Chief Celestine Emereuwa who ran around to see to the success of the day. He extended sincere hands of prayers for all who came to celebrate with his family praying that heaven will continue to identity with them.
Finally, he mentioned that Nzeribe Okegbue Foundation will equally use this opportunity to empower 10 women in Afara-Ukwu saying that he has gotten the list of ten women to be empowered business wise drawn from the four villages. He announced the cash donation of 50, 000 which will go 50, 000 to each woman. His generosity touched Chief Ugorji and Dr Mrs Lilian Chibor who supported same women with 100, 000 and 50, 000 respectively.
In his brief vote of thanks Emmanuel Nzeribe a graduate of Law and first son of the celebrant gave great thanks to God for his love and mercy which was visibly made manifest by the fair whether through out the occasion. He appreciated the audience for their patience and solidarity and prayed that the good Lord lead them safely to their respective destinations.
Dr Nzeribe Okegbue is a proactive and top level businessman with proven track records both locally and internationally. He is the MD/CEO of Combatant Guards limited, Nzealbertech, and other companies with head office in Lagos and branch offices in the South East and South West. He has over two decades of experience in security operations and management. He is a member of American society of Industrial security, Vice Chairman Association of licenced Security Practitioners of Nigeria (Lagos Zone), fellow, Nigeria institute of Industrial security, fellow, institute of brand management Nigeria, fellow, Chartered Institute of Local government and public administration of Nigeria, Fellow, Institute of Transport and management Technology of Nigeria, fellow, Institute of management consultants of Nigeria etc. The international certified managment consultant is currently the chairman of security committee Igbo think tank group.
In the area of employment opportunities, Dr Nzeribe has provided thousands of jobs to young Nigerians especially in Lagos, Abia, ,Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebobyi, Oyo, and Ogun state as a way of employment. According to him in his exclusive chat with National Impact magazine, he noted that the best way to keep the youths out of crime is to empower them through education, job creation and skill acquisition.
Aside his massive empowerment guestures to the less privileged, his philanthropy cuts across scholarships, wedding sponsorship, donation towards church buildings, schools and commuty development.
