The founder of National Association of government approved frieght forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam via a press conference held on Monday, 28th of February at It’s headquarters in Apapa GRA Lagos has condemned the attitude of the minister of Transportation Mr Rotimi Amaechi for trying to personalize CRFFN.

According to the in-depth Maritime authority, the aim of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding of Nigeria (CRFFN) is to get frieght forwarders to do the right thing.

“But the minister of Transportation hast been eager to take over CRFFN and I expect these registered association to protest to the national assembly to complain against the sabotage against the act. It is very surprising that the transport minister tend to be more interested in individual contestant than registered association which is against the norm despite the discussion and understanding that have existed between the minister and the registered Associations”.

Furthermore, he said that he is not expecting NAGAFF, ANLCA,  ARFFN or any of the other registered associations to take part in the upcoming election because of the fact that they had had some level of consultations and agreement as far as the election is concerned.

“Going by the minister decision, the essence has been defeated already in as much as there is need to protect the act. As we speak, CRFFN election is neither here nor there. All manner of persons are being registered without checking the former election list or which registered Association they are coming from” he stated.

NAGAFF founder established categorically that the CRFFN is not a parasternal of the Transportation Ministry and that even though the case to prove that is still in the court, but as law abiding citizens, NAGAFF is playing along with the status quo while the court case subsists.

Dr Aniebonam also observed that CRFFN is not working saying that If CRFFN is effective, the state of the port will not be as it is. ” They should be able to interpret the language of the Nigerian customs and the workability of the port to the benefit of the freight forwarders and the Nigerians at large.”
