Ekwulobia Diocese receives 5th Nigerian Cardinal

It was a jubilation galore in Anambra State as bigwigs storm Ekwulobia Diocese to receive 5th Nigeria Cardinal, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke.

Before his appointment,he was Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese who was rejected by the Diocese as result of not being Indigene of the Diocese. 

In 2018, he resigned as Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese and was reappointed as first Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese in 2020.

The Holy father, His Holiness pope Francis on August 27th, 2022 created 20 Cardinal in Vatican. Diginatries who attended the reception ceremony include Gov.Soludo of Anambra State,Senator victor Umeh who represented Anambra central in the 8th Senate, Senator Ifeanyi Uba representating Anambra south, President of Catholic Bishops conference of Nigeria & Archbishop of Owerri Archdioces Most Rev.Dr.Luius Ugorji, Most Rev.Dr. Valerian Okeke, Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese etc.
