Community development is very important because it provides the foundation a city builds to improve the lives of its citizens. It creates strong, diverse communities that are able to attract and keep talent, start and grow businesses, and overcome issues that arise. Talking about Patriots of community development in Ndiokoro village in Ikemba community of Ikwuano LGA of Abia state, the family of Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue (JP) has always been among the front burners as they built and equipped an ultra modern Town Hall for their people. The family reveals that the well designed, built and equipped town hall was in honour of the late mother, Mrs. Ugoma Beatrice.

An ultra modern Town Hall built and equipped by Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue (JP) to the good people of Ndiokoro village in Ikemba community of Ikwuano LGA.

Speaking at the ocassion of the unveiling and official presentation, the deputy governor of Abia state encouraged all Abians both home and abroad to join hands in shaping their respective communities, as such, drives and promotes sustainable developments, long-term economic growth, spurs innovation, strengthens and fosters social cohesion hence the Deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, called on other well meaning Abians to emulate what Chief Okegbue has done.

The Deputy Governor represented by the Commissioner for Boundary Matters, Chief Godwin Ndom, described Chief Okegbue as a great philanthropist who has the interest of his people and Abians at heart owing to the series of sacrifices he has made in the past. “Despite not being in government’s payroll, the love the benefactor has for his community, keep spurring him to do more for his people”

Representative of the Deputy Governor Sir Oko Chukwu urged the community to make good use of the hall and as well, rally round to ensure that come 2023 general elections, that all the PDP candidates will win in their areas.

Reacting to the issue of the moment the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Engr. Chinedum Orji and the Chairman, Ikwuano L.G.A, Chief Steve Mpamaugo, applauded Chief Nzeribe Okegbue who has continued to bring development to his people and prayed God to bless him bountifully

This new project announced by this highly blessed philanthropist was received with great applaud.

“I wish my mother is still alive to witness what God is doing through her son. Some people also think that it is only when you are holding political position that you will do something for your people. That notion is very wrong else the purpose of community development will be defeated” he opined.

The event which featured the presentation of wrappers to indigent widows, cultural dances by NdiOkoro women, Ndieke and Ikemba women attracted the presence of PDP Party faithful, traditional rulers, clergymen and other notable personalities. To God be the glory.
